Questions of optimization of access in a local network are considered. Calculations are spent for network ETHERNET. Possibilities of correction of reports Ethernet for the purpose of increase of an overall performance of a network in the conditions of high intensity of the transferred traffic are considered. The local network constructed with use of topology «a passive star», is represented as single–channel system of mass service with expectation. Within the limits of given article researches of possibilities of correction of reports Ethernet for the purpose of increase of an overall performance of a local network are carried out.
